Editorial Review

Following in the footsteps of it’s partner Renault, Nissan India too will be launching an all-wheel driver version of it’s compact SUV, the Terrano in India. The Terrano is Nissan’s highest selling model in this SUV crazy nation.
The all-wheel drive version of the Nissan Terrano will be powered by the 110PS spec version of the 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine of the SUV (the Terrano diesel is also available in more affordable version with the 1.5 litre engine developing 85PS of max power).

Renault introduced the all-wheel drive version of it’s Duster in a mid and top variants in order to make the AWD model more accessible to buyers. Expect Nissan to go down the same road as well when it launches the AWD version of the Terrano.

The all-wheel drive model of the Nissan Terrano will come with three driving modes, namely, two-wheel drive - for on-road driving, Auto - engaging four-wheel drive automatically when the rear wheels detect loss of traction and AWD - which sends power to all four wheels up to a speed of 60 km/h.
Along with the addition of the four-wheel drive system, expect Nissan to spruce up the all-wheel drive Terrano with styling enhancements inside out to set the all-wheel drive versions of the Terrano apart.
Expect prices of all-wheel drive versions of the Nissan Terrano to be put at a premium of around Rs. 1.10 lakh over that of it’s two-wheel drive versions.
